Welcome true crime junkies! Here's a dedicated thread to discuss all things true crime -- cases, theories, podcasts/TikToks/YouTube channels, TV shows and documentaries, etc.
I've been following this case of the 19-yr-old in New Mexico who "didn't know she was pregnant" and ended up throwing her baby into a trash can after she gave birth in the hospital restroom. It's so strange. How do you not notice having a period for 9 months? And her stomach was huge in the cheerleading video. How did her mom not know? What kind of thought processes leave a (barely) adult in this situation? Or the baby dad who took her to prom?
Her mother seems to be very protective and overbearing, so the only thing I can think of is being too afraid to tell her mom. But it's so obvious that she was pregnant. It's very sad and bizarre. Can't imagine leaving a baby to die in a trash can. Even if she legitimately didn't know, why wouldn't she ask someone at the hospital to help her? There is literally no better place to surrender a baby. There's something very odd happening in that household. She was 19 and didn't know her own social security number. That's wild.
I wonder if it was targeted or random. I've heard that he wasn't a flashy kind of guy, so it doesn't appear that he was robbed. Hopefully they'll catch the perpetrator.

This is very sad and strange. Cash App founder, Bob Lee, was stabbed to death this morning in San Francisco.
